Who is Gate 3:16
It was in 1989/90 that a number of people came
together with one thing in common; a deep concern for the homeless and street people in Oshawa and Durham Region. These brainstorming sessions gave birth to the opening of a drop-in centre for the marginalized in our society, located at 394 Sincoe South in Oshawa. The founding principles spell out that the purpose of the ministry of Gate 3:16 is to communicate and demonstrate the love of God to all who need help. In our 20 years of existence, Gate 3:16 has seen many needy people come through its doors. On average we welcome 80 - 100 clients a day. For these people Gate 3:16 is their home, a place where they experience the loving open arms of Jesus
Christ. We say thank you to the many people who have supported us through prayer and financial contributions. Thank you to those who serve and have served as board members or as volunteers in different capacities. Thank you to the dedicated staff members who serve this ministry. Above all, our hearts are filled with gratitude to the Lord who has blessed this ministry. We are convinced that there always will be a need for a drop-in centre. As the Lord Jesus said, “you will always have the poor
among you”. The Lord enabled us to open this drop-in centre in 1990. He has carried us through some rough financial times. We trust He will continue to go with us and supply all our needs.
